ACEC Advocacy Agenda- Key Wins 2023 & 2024

  • Lifted the 6% Fee Cap as part of the Defense Authorization Act to 10% for DOD contracts

  • Secured Exemption for engineering industry in the Administration's executive order mandating the use of Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) on federal projects

  • NEPA Reform to streamline project delivery, creating more Categorical Exclusions, timelines for completion of EAs and EIS', and "E-NEPA" to accelerate digital technology applications

  • PPP Relief language in the Senate-passed Transportation appropriations bill for FY'24 directs FHWA to work with the state DOTs to minimize the impact of the credit to small firms that received PPP loans

  • FAA Reauthorization to increase funding for airport projects, broaden authority to use drones, set aside funding for resiliency and PFAs

  • Ukraine Reconstruction language to facilitate private sector engagement in Ukraine Reconstruction planning

  • Boosting the Workforce Pipeline through Administration regulation on the H-1B visa lottery system recommended by ACEC to prevent abuses in the system

  • Expand Nuclear Energy by supporting legislation promoting new nuclear technologies and improving the licensing process

  • Secured Updates to the DOT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program to increase the Personal Net Worth cap and exclude retirement assets, align business size standards with relevant federal contracting codes, and facilitate interstate DBE certification

Supported by engineering professionals from across the country who work for member firms, the sole purpose of ACEC/PAC is to elect candidates to the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate who support policies and legislation favorable to the engineering industry.

ACEC/PAC is overseen by a committee of PAC Champions comprising engineering firm executives from all ACEC member organizations and is regulated by the Federal Election Commission (FEC). ACEC/PAC is currently the largest federal PAC in the design industry. It supports candidates on a bipartisan basis and may give up to $5,000 to a federal candidate per election, and up to $10,000 per candidate for their federal election cycle. In the last election cycle, ACEC/PAC’s winning percentage was 97%.

Mountain Standard Time (MST) 3/1/24 until 7:30 AM MST on 12/31/24. Partnership and sole proprietorship checks are permitted; however, federal law prohibits corporate checks and corporate credit cards. Contributions or gifts to ACEC PAC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Contributions will be screened and those from outside the restricted class (nonmembers) and those from individuals who have not given prior approval may be returned. An individual is free to contribute more or less than the guidelines suggest, but may not contribute more than $5,000 per calendar year. Cash contributions are limited to the aggregate total of $100 per person per calendar year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31). Federal law requires that our committee report the full name, address, occupation, and company name of each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in a calendar year. Entry into these sweepstakes constitutes acceptance of sweepstakes rules, which are attached to this Entry Form. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries distributed. OFFICIAL RULES FOR THE ACEC Arizona PAC SWEEPSTAKES

 

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. OPEN ONLY TO U.S. RESIDENTS. ENTRY INTO THESE SWEEPSTAKES

 

CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE SWEEPSTAKES RULES. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to enter the ACEC Arizona PAC Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”), you must be a legal resident of the United States, including the District of Columbia, who is a member of The American Council of Engineering Companies of Arizona and at or above the age of majority in the state in which you reside.
SPONSOR: The American Council of Engineering Companies of Arizona, located at 3550 N Central Ave, Suite 1140, Phoenix, AZ 85012, is the sponsor of the Sweepstakes (“Sponsor”).


TERM: The Sweepstakes begins at midnight Mountain Standard Time (MST) on March 1, 2024, and ends at 7:30 AM on December 31, 2024.
 

HOW TO ENTER: No purchase necessary to win. Void where prohibited. Entrants may enter in several ways:
(A) You may enter the Sweepstakes during the Term directly from the Sponsor in one of the following ways (1) send this form via email to administration@acecaz.org; (2) call ACEC Arizona at 602-995-2187, or (3) send this form via mail to ACEC Arizona PAC at 3550 N Central Ave, Suite 1140, Phoenix, AZ 85012 (NOTE: Mail-in entries must be received by 12/31/24 to be considered for the drawing). Each entrant will be required to provide his/her name, home address, phone number, and e-mail address or the entrant must provide the Sponsor with a completed Entry Form. Upon receipt of your entry, ACEC Arizona will enter your name in the Sweepstakes. To confirm entry, ACEC Arizona will send you an email or notify you in person, if applicable. Contributions are not tax-deductible. FEC regulations prohibit corporate checks or credit cards.
(B) You may enter without purchase during the Term by sending Sponsor an email titled “FREE ENTRY TO SWEEPSTAKES” at administration@acecaz.org with your first and last name, complete address, daytime phone number, date of birth, and e-mail address. Upon receipt of your email, Sponsor will enter your name in the Sweepstakes. As proof of entry, ACEC Arizona will send you an email confirming your entry.

 

LIMIT: YOU MAY ONLY ENTER ONCE PER DAY, REGARDLESS OF THE METHOD OF ENTRY. Subsequent entries will be disqualified. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged. The sponsor is not responsible for any non-intentional, incorrect, or inaccurate information associated with the Sweepstakes or for any technical or human error that may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for, and hereby disclaims any liability resulting from, any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or delay in the operation or transmission of any entry, or the destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks, servers or computer network providers, computer equipment, software, hardware, e-mail, or any combination thereof, including injury or damage to entrants or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes. If for any reason, the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes is corrupted, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole and exclusive discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. The sponsor is not responsible and disclaims all liability for any injury to person or property in relation to this Sweepstakes. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. PRIZE DRAWING: The potential winner will be selected via drawing on December 31, 2024, and notified within five (5) business days of the drawing by mail, phone, or email. If prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the prize is forfeited and Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner from all remaining eligible entries.


PRIZE & ODDS OF WINNING: Grand prize winner will receive $1,000 in cash via check, two (2) first prize winners will receive $500 in cash via check, and eight (8) second prize winners will receive $250 in cash via check. Approximate retail value of $4,000. Pictures shown in any promotional materials are for illustration purposes only. All other details of the Prizes not stated herein are at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Prizes are not transferable or substitutable, except by Sponsor, who in its sole
(C) may substitute a prize with one of equal value. Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential winner will be notified via registered mail or phone within five (5) business days of the grand prize drawing. All taxes, costs, and fees associated with prize or prize delivery or acceptance not specified are the sole responsibility of the winners. If the prize is not claimed within thirty (30) days of notification by the Sponsor, an alternate potential winner will be selected by a new drawing from all remaining eligible entries. Where permitted by applicable law, the winners may be required to sign a Declaration of Eligibility, Release of Liability, and/or a Publicity Release. Failure to return the required documents within the time period specified may result in forfeiture of the prize and random selection of alternate potential winners from remaining eligible entries. Prizes will be awarded via check within approximately twelve (12) weeks of receipt by the Sponsor of all prize acceptance documents. GENERAL: By entering these Sweepstakes, entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules. All U.S. federal, state, municipal, and local laws and regulations apply. All entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry, and any potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder for that e-mail address. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet service provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning an e-mail address for the domain. Winners agree that their name, photograph, videotape, likeness or statement may be used for advertising and publicity purposes in any media as Sponsor and its agents so determine without any further compensation or consideration, except where prohibited by law. Any entry blanks or other materials that are incomplete, illegible, altered, counterfeited or tampered with or obtained other than through legitimate and authorized sources are void and Sponsor shall not be responsible for illegible, damaged, lost, forged, late, stolen, postage-due, incomplete, undelivered/undeliverable or misdirected mail/entries. By entering the Sweepstakes and/or accepting a prize, each entrant releases Sponsor and each of its affiliates and their employees and representatives from any and all liability, whether directly or indirectly, for all injuries, LOSSES, or damages of any kind (including death) arising out of, or in connection with the possession, acceptance, enjoyment, use/misuse of prize or arising out of participation in this Sweepstakes; and entrant waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages, attorneys’ fees or any damages other than actual out-of-pocket costs incurred to enter. Should there be a conflict between the laws of Arizona and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favor of the laws of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
